Yes UFOs do exist, government spokesman says

This is very interesting news. Are they just making this up to get the media attention?

TOKYO – Yes, UFOs do exist, Japan’s top government spokesman said Tuesday. The comment by chief cabinet secretary Nobutaka Machimura drew laughter from reporters at his regular briefing on government policy.

Earlier the cabinet, responding to an opposition lawmaker’s question, issued a statement saying it could not confirm any cases of unidentified flying objects.

“This is an issue that the nation is interested in — it is a defense issue and a confirmation operation needs to take place,” Ryuji Yamane, a lawmaker from the main opposition Democratic Party who submitted the question to the cabinet.
“But the government does not even try to collect information necessary for the confirmation.”

Machimura, asked about the government’s view on UFOs at a regular press conference, told reporters that the government can only offer a stereotyped response.

“Personally, I definitely believe they exist,” he said, apparently tongue in cheek.

But the prime minister stuck to the official view.

“I have yet to confirm (that UFOs exist),” Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda told reporters later in the day.

Man found out that his co-worker is his birth mother

This is a strange news but happy one. I am happy for them.

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Steve Flaig’s long search for his birth mother ended at an incredible place: the checkout line of the home-improvement store where he works.

Flaig had met Christine Tallady after she started working at Lowe’s several months ago, but it was only recently that the 22-year-old delivery driver figured out she was the woman who had given him up for adoption. It took him a few weeks, and some help from the adoption agency, to give her the news.

“I would walk by her, look at her from a distance, not knowing how to approach her,” Flaig told The Grand Rapids Press for a story published Wednesday. “You don’t come stocked with information on how to deal with this.”

With support from his adoptive parents, Flaig had asked the agency, DA Blodgett for Children, for information on his birth mother when he turned 18. Tallady, who was single and not ready to be a mother when she gave birth to Flaig in 1985, had left the adoption record open, figuring he would want to contact her one day.

Flaig received information, including Tallady’s name, but Internet searches turned up nothing. He didn’t make the connection after meeting his birth mother because he didn’t know her last name.

In October, Flaig looked at the paperwork again and realized he had been spelling Tallady’s surname wrong. He soon came up with a home address around the corner from where he was raised, and less than a mile from the Lowe’s in Plainfield Township, just outside Grand Rapids.

When he mentioned it to his boss, she said, “You mean Chris Tallady, who works here?”

“I was like, there’s no possible way,” Flaig said.

On Dec. 12, Flaig happened to be driving past DA Blodgett’s offices, so he stopped in and told them of his find. An employee there volunteered to call Tallady for him.

Tallady, head cashier at the Lowe’s, was astonished to learn that the son she had given up for adoption 22 years earlier was a co-worker.

“I started crying,” the 45-year-old said. “I figured he would call me sometime, but not like this.”

Flaig said he is eager to meet Tallady’s other two children, 12-year-old Alexandria and 10-year-old Brandon, his half siblings.

“I have a complete family now, all my kids,” Tallady said. “It’s a perfect time of year. It’s the best Christmas present ever.”

Finding Love on Dating Show

The bisexual Internet celebrity selected 25-year-old film student Bobby Banhart as the winner of “A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila,” popular MTV reality dating show,.

“I do love Dani, and we’ve gone through so much together,” Tequila said during Tuesday’s finale. “But I am also in love with Bobby.”

Tequila — whose real last name is Nguyen — chose Banhart on a platform in the middle of the pool at the mansion where the reality show was filmed. Campbell walked away immediately following Banhart’s selection, but Tequila ran after her to hug her and say goodbye.

“I thought we had something real. I thought we had a big connection,” Campbell said. “I guess I was wrong.”

“A Shot at Love,” which featured 16 men and 16 women competing for the affection of the 26-year-old MySpace pinup, became MTV’s second most popular series, just behind “The Hills,” according to Nielsen Media Research.

Casting notices have circulated online for a second season of “A Shot at Love” and “That’s Amore!” — a new dating show starring “Shot at Love” castoff Domenico Nessi. MTV hasn’t confirmed that either is in the works, but Tequila told The Associated Press last week that MTV had approached her about taking another “Shot at Love” — although it doesn’t look like she needs to.

“I came into this hoping to find love,” Tequila said, “and I did.”

A reunion of Tequila and the contestants will air Dec. 23.

Capello Is a Control Freak

Marcel Desailly, a former France player who was on the Capello’s successful AC Milan team is saying that his former boss wants to control everything. It maybe good for England team but it is definitely bad for some players and they might not be happy about it.

Remember? The Brazilian Ronaldo hates Capello so much because of the way he handled Real Madrid. However, as everybody knows, Real become domestic champion once again under Capello. So, it will be very interesting to see how Capello can change England national team.

I cross my fingers the players will really understand his point all the time and will not put their ego too high. “Otherwise, it will be a mess.

Wii Avilable This Friday Only

If you don’t have Wii game console yet or trying to put under the tree this Christmas, get down to your local GameStop and EB Games early this Friday, December 21.

GameStop announced the details of the program today. A limited supply of the rainchecks, which guarantee that a Wii console will be available for pickup by January 25, 2008.

Purchasers will have to pay the entire $250 this Friday, and will receive this DVD jewel case emblazoned with the design at right. Inside the case will be the gift receipt and instructions on how to pick up the Wii.

However, it will not be easy. You have to get up early in the morning and line up outside your local store before it opens. They only selling limited quantity and only one per household, but that’s still no guarantee that they’ll last more than a few hours.

Overpaid CEOs

This is a funny news. If CEOs really believe that they are overpaid, they can make some sacrifices by taking pay cuts. I don’t think a lot of CEOs can do that.

BOSTON (Reuters) – With many U.S. chief executives taking home millions of dollars in pay, it is no shock that average workers regards them as overpaid. But that attitude extends to the corner office as well.

Sixty-four percent of top executives view CEO compensation as excessive, according to survey released on Tuesday.

The poll of 1,572 readers of BNET, a business Web site, found that, overall, 77 percent of employees regarded CEOs as overpaid. The survey, of readers of the Web site, was conducted June 11 through 18. About 90 percent of respondents were from the United States.

Fifty percent of CEOs surveyed said their leadership style was effective, but only 38 percent of employees agreed.
